Jonathan Bernier took part in a Nelson Mendela rememberance event at the raptors game Friday night called "The Giant of Africa". The Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Jonathan Bernier was interviewed at the event wearing a nice suit and talk about the man he thought was a tremendous athlete and someone he loved to watch growing up. The reporter asked Bernier how important is the legacy of Nelson Mendela to you? Jonathan Bernier told the reporter the he thought Mendela was an amazing athlete and you should respect every sport. He also told the reporters he loved to watch him play growing up. The reporter then asked why is it important to support events like this and Bernier replied saying he loves support anything and everyone that has something to do with sports and it is a great cause. Bernier could have had a brain fart thinking the question was something else but the question clearly talked about Mendela and why he is here supporting and remembering Nelson Mendela

Toronto Maple Leafs have a lucky number 23

Toronto hosted the Washington Capitals Thursday night. Toronto had a lot of play in them and had a lucky number on their side all night #23, Toronto scored 23 seconds left to play in the first period and 23 seconds into the second they scored again. This was Torontos 23rd game in the Maple Leaf Season and during this game they honoured Pat Quinn who wore the number 23 and died November 23. It's weird that 23 was a popular number that night and they think that possibly Pat Quinn was watching over them and gave them that good luck to pull out the 6-2 win over the Washington Capitals

Connor MaDavid Out Five To Six Weeks

Connor McDavid was involved in a fight Tuesday night against Mississauga's player  Bryson Cianfrone. During the fight Connor went to through a punch at Bryson and missed and hit the top of the bored.    The fractured bone extends from the base of the pinkie finger to the wrist and he will not have to have any surgery to fix it. The 17 year old McDavid went to see a specialist after Tuesday nights game. McDavid being out sets him back to December 24th and he will almost certainly miss the Canadian World Juniors with there first game to be played on December 26th against Slovakia.

With the 17 year old hockey star being so young and already being into fights everyone is going to want to draft him on there team because they want men who can fight like McDavid showed people he can do in Tuesday nights game. Although the NHL is slowly trying to dismiss fighting from the league people are still going to fight its what the crowd likes and they have to every so often to show teams that they are not just a weak team that can score goals and do everything that they get paid to do but you also need to show them that you can defend your team.

I personally think now with all that great plays McDavid has played he will personally have no problem getting into the NHL and now managers and teams will be looking over him when he gets back into the game. As of right now it looks like he will be missing the world juniors but the team hopes that it will heal and he can get the okay from the specialist and be allowed to played and show his true hockey skills to all the NHL team mangers that will be there looking and watching over people that they can draft into the NHL and onto there team. I personally think the NHL should not get rid of fighting because there will always be the two people that want to fight and need to defend themselves and there team but maybe they need to give out bigger penalties to the people who do fight instead of just a five minute major penalty. NHL should be giving out game suspensions and fines and that will maybe stop fighting a little bit but there will still be the odd fight in the NHL and still keep the fans and sport interesting.

Montreal Canadians P.K Subban Reciving Racist Tweets

Thursday nights hockey game consisting of Montreal Canadians and the Boston bruins consisted of a double overtime game. The two teams battled hard as P.K Subban scored to game winning goal for the Canadians, After P.K Scored the game winning goal he was tagged in over 17,000 Racist comments on a social media network Twitter. 90% of those 17,00 tweets included the N word and tagged P.K in the tweet. Some Boston fans tweeted in the shock that other Boston fans would make such Racist comment one tweeted "N----r was trending in Boston because P.K. Subban scored… It’s a rare moment in my life to be ashamed to be a Bruins fan"  another tweeted  "I bet the Bruins fans calling P.K. Subban a n----r on Twitter have no idea his brother plays for their minor league team." P.K's brother Malcolm was drafted to the Boston's Minor league team in 2012 Bruins fans also don't realize that an awesome right winger on there team Jarome Iginla has some of the seem tweets and can not believe his team mates would do this to him and other NHL players.

Pittsburgh Steelers Big Ben throws 6 touchdowns and 340 yards to lead the team to victory

Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger is the man no one can touch right now. After Sundays game against the ravens Big Ben throw 6 touchdown's and over 340 yards to set an NFL record for touchdown passes in consecutive games in a 43-23 victory over the ravens on Sundays night game. after throwing 12 touchdowns in the past 2 games broke Tom Flores record of 11 in two games. Ben is on a streak and the man to beat and the team mates are thinking that he is on fire and they are feeling good about the team and feeling good about where Ben is taking the team and that he will be leading the teams to another big win.  "You could have never sold me that during the week, even though he did it last week," Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs said.

I think Ben Roethlisberger is going to be the star player and win the star player of the year and setting goals that ben is on the path to success. Ben and Joe Flacco another player for the Steelers has played good with Ben receiving 303 yards and two touchdowns and one interception.

Penguins honour Canada with natinol anthem

The Pittsburgh Penguins played O Canada at the Penguins and flyers game Wednesday night honoring the soldier killed in the Ottawa Shooting attack. Singing the anthem at the game dose not usually happen but they wanted to pay there tributes to Canada after a bad thing happened and a soldier took a bullet for no good reason. After the Ottawa and Toronto game got postponed there needed to be a Canadian Anthem sung somewhere.

Singing O Canada was a sell out crowed sang loud and proud to pay tribute. As they sang the anthem the Canadian flag was on the score bored and projected onto the ice. The two teams pray for all Canadians and hope the best for them all. also pray for the families of the people who are wounded.

also at the Edmonton oilers game Wednesday night they also they also sang O Canada to honor those who are suffering in the terrible attack in Canada.

Cowboys RB Randle arrested for shoplifting

the Texas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was arrested for being accused of stealing $123.50 from a suburban Dallas department store. Randle said to the security guard after the arrest "Alright you got me" Sounding like someone has finally caught him stealing and that he has been stealing from department stores for awhile. The Cowboys running back is currently on a $2.3 million rookie contract and a salary base of $495,000 for this season. Randle had 164 yards rushing and two touchdowns as a rookie last year.

I personally don't think professional athletes should not be stealing from stores when they are making millions of dollars a year they can afford to take care of them self and do good to themselves or family that they do not have to steal $123.50 in underwear. I think other people will think differently of him now specially if he now is getting $2.3 million. The security did a good job arresting Randle in the parking lot of the department store and getting him charged with theft of $50-$500. Randle will have a court date soon  to be determined

Sharks Crashing kings Home Opener Celebration

2013-2014 champions Los Angeles Kings held their home opener last night against the San Jose Sharks, The home opener started with naming and introducing the players as they skate on the ice following that they raised the Stanley Cup championship banner from their win last year. After the kings were all pumped up and ready to play hockey they started off with a bad first period ending the first 1-0 for the San Jose Sharks with a goal from Tommy Wingles.

Starting the 2nd down 1-0 they know they needed to get another goal to tie it up so the sharks did not have the lead over the kings, San Jose was ready for another period of action scoring 3 goals in the 2nd period making the score now 4-0 after 2 periods of action.

3rd period the kings just did not have the momentum to push and get 4 goals they needed to tie the game and let it go to OT. The sharks won the first game of the season 4-0 win over the Kings. I personally did not see this coming, I thought that the Kings were going to have another strong year like last year. The kings had the advantage over San Jose I personally thought they would be the better team and I thought the score would be the other way around. Los Angeles Kings fans left the Staples Center with disbelief as there team lose the home opener 4-0 against the San Jose sharks.

Indianapolis Colts Player Landry Suspended 4 Unpaid Games

Indianapolis Colts Player LaRon Landry is suspended four unpaid games for violating the NFL  performance-enhancing substance policy. The colts are now four games into the season (2,2) and Landry has had 18 tackles in the four games they have played. Landry will not be returning to the team until Oct 26th game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

We see a lot of athletes from different leagues doing stuff like this and violating the performance-Enhancing substance policy to try to make them self's look like they are the best, We mostly see this in football the most because then they can go out on the field and make bigger stronger tackles and they look like a big guy that can make good plays and help the team out.

I personally think that athletes should not be taking performance enhancing drugs because it is not right to have drugs in your system then go out and play a game in front of all your fans and roll models that really look up to you as their hero and they are out on the field playing a game of football breaking the performance-enhancing substance policy. I do think it is good that the NFL and all the leagues do put this policy in effect because they should not be going and playing on drugs that give that certain player on drugs an advantage over other player and team.

Jordan Subban's First NHL Goal Leads To Racism

Jordan Subban scored his first NHL goal in an exhibition game against san José. Jordan just started playing with the Vancouver Canucks when he got his first goal. A photographer captured a picture of him and his team mates celebrating this big moment in his life when the photographer put in the paper the picture and a caption talking about the picture and in bracket "(The black guy in the middle)"

I think a lot of people are thinking that hockey always use to be a Canadian sport and that now bringing Jordan Subban and P.K Subban into the NHL. I personally don't think that bringing a guy who is good at hockey into the NHL should not matter what color they are as long as they are good they should be able to be in the NHL playing with other people we are all humans. Jordan is a good hockey player so he deserves to be playing with Vancouver because they need him on the team if they are wanting to go to the playoffs. Jordan can probably play better hockey then some of the other people that play for Vancouver.

Montreal Canadians Not Naming A Captin For 14-15 Season

The Montreal Canadian are getting ready for a big season ahead of them. P.K Subban, Tomas Plekance, Andrei Markov, Max Pacioretty were all waiting to hear who would be wearing the "A" this year in the upcoming season. Monday coach Marc Bergevin told the four of them there will be no captain and no one will wear the "C" all of them will just be wearing the "A" on there jersey. Markov and Plekanec are to have it every game and Subban and Pacioretty will be switching every other game wearing it. The coach wants to see Subban and Pacioretty who can take on the best leadership role and put the two young stars to the test. Coach says if goalies were allowed to wear a letters on there jerseys that Carry Price would be wearing one too. Bergevin says that Price will be sitting in on all the assistant captain meetings to learn and give his input.

I think this is a good idea because it lets Bergevin a chance to see who can make the team the best they physically can be and who can take on the most leadership role and can dedicate to the team work. The 4 assistance will be put to the test and next year if one shows a really good attitude toward them team and really outs in time and effort I think that one of the four will wear the "C" in the 2015-2016 NHL Season. I personally think the Montreal Canadians are going to be a hard to beat team this year. they got the men and the power to hopfully make it to the Stanly Cup Game.

Ravens React To Shocking Video By Cutting Running Back Ray Rice

A shocking video of Ray Rice hitting his wife Janay on February 15th Ray dragged his wife into the hotel elevator and hitting her in the chin. People believe the video was sent into the NFL and they just ignored it seeing if they could keep one of the best NFL players still playing. Video was released earlier this week showing Ray Rice and his wife get into the elevator after fighting and Ray Rice punching her in the jaw more then once. Ray Rice was arrested and people are not questioning the NFL to if they really ignored the video so they did not have to deal with Ray and keep him in the upcoming season as long as they can. Ray dragged his wife out of the elevator unconscious and people that were on that floor started to yell " Let her go" And ray tried to convince them that she was just drunk and that he was getting her back to the hotel room in the casino they were at.

I think that this was not right of Ray Rice and for him and the NFL both to think that they ould get away with the video of him doing this crime might have just costed Ray Rice his fans, and a good chunk of his career. I think that Ray has a lot more explaining to do and that he should be suspended from the NFL because he is supposed to be someone that people look up to and are inspired by.

Seattle Seahawks Blowout Victory

The Seattle Seahawks opened the season the same way they finished the season, with a blowout victory. Marshawn Lynch ran 110 yards and scored two touchdowns in the season opener against the Green Bay Packers. The season started off with the celebration of the super bowl championship banner. Wilson was outstanding in the first half including a 33 yard touchdown pass to Ricardo Lockette. Lynch is on his way to a new record for him this season scoring 1,257 yards last season and 12 touchdowns now looks like that will be no trouble to beat that record if he keeps playing the way he did last night.

I think that the Seattle Seahawks have started the season off on a good note with the blowout win against the Green bay Packers. The team is going to be looking at a good season ahead of them they have a strong, focused healthy team and they will be hard to beat, The Seahawks will be trying to reach another super bowl championship win.
